CHOIRS AND RELIGIOUS POEMS
Outside the liturgical sphere, Daniele Maffeis wrote some pieces of a ‘sacro symphonic’ character; in the first volume, we find two choral works accompanied by orchestra, a hymn for unison choir and band and four other scores in which the voices are accompanied by an instrumental group; while in the second volume, there are pieces with only organ or piano accompaniment. A particular case is the musical vision in one act, “Vestita di sole”, whose piano writing refers clearly to an orchestral version of which no trace has been found.
