THE MOTHER AND THE SACRAMENTS
The sacred mime (an action based only on gesture, without a narrative text), subject by Eva Tea and mimografia by Emma Baldo, was composed in 1957 in three versions, each published in a tome, for chorus with accompaniment by piano and harmonium, or small or large orchestra. The seven sacraments symbolize the stages of a life always fighting between Good and Evil. Each tome contains, before the musical score, the detailed description of the costumes and movements necessary for the scenic performance of the work. The choir intervenes only at the beginning to chant, in Italian, the “Our Father”.
